 Hello beautiful Teletypewriter readers!  I’m writing upon my return from the 47th Annual meeting of the Society of Phenomenology and Existential Philosophy. I always love going to these events — of course there are excellent papers and discussion, but it’s also cool to hang out with a bunch of really nerdy people (I’m no exception!). It’s interesting to look around and see folks of all different ages and stages in their careers and, yet, we all sort of look as though we belong in this particular group.  This fact was made very obvious when, on the first night of the conference, a bunch of quasi-rabid hockey fans showed up for an event at the hotel.  

There was a moment during a Q&A on a panel about identity that haunted me for the rest of the conference and I’d like to write about that now.   Read the rest of this entry »
